In the twenty or so years we’ve been recruiting specialist care staff for individuals with complex health needs, things have changed a lot in the health and care landscape. Notably, the introduction of Personal Health Budgets (PHBs)
These PHBs were introduced by the NHS in 2014 to give greater visibility and control to patients, and they did just that. Except, where it gets complicated is that whereas before, the NHS would manage your care plan this responsibility is now on you.
Our team quickly realised that there was a world outside of staffing challenges, and that understandably, individuals in receipt of a Personal Health Budget (PHB) can’t be expected to be experts in everything from recruitment to payroll, compliance and consultancy.
We want to be able to give people the confidence and support they deserve by providing valuable advice when setting up and sustaining care teams so they can focus on the more important things in life.
So, there it was, we formed Melia Care Services to do all of this.
